This resonates so strongly with me, having grown up in Lagos. We learned that it was a community that raised a child, not just the parents. So what you become is partly a product of all the communities you’ve belonged to. Not just what you do.

It’s a bit odd that you book a flight with KLM and they unilaterally change it to an earlier flight, and when you attempt to change it to a later flight, they charge you a £300 penalty charge in addition to the fare difference, quoting ‘terms and conditions’, which they broke!
