I’m relieved to see the reports of children and women released. UNICEF continues to call for an end to grave child rights violations and any form of violence against children in the State of Palestine and Israel.   All children must be protected.   This violence must end.

.UNICEF welcomes news of a pause in fighting in Gaza and is ready to scale up our humanitarian response. Unimpeded access to reach children—wherever they are—with life-saving support is desperately needed.   The death and destruction must stop.

#Gaza is the most dangerous place in the world to be a child. Entire neighbourhoods, where children used to play and go to school have been destroyed. Education was disrupted, water and sanitation threatened, and health services compromised. (1/2)

Intensifying conflict, malnutrition and disease in Gaza are creating a deadly cycle that is threatening over 1.1 million children. The world cannot stand by and watch. To get children the life-saving support they desperately need, we need a humanitarian ceasefire. Now.

2023 was reportedly the hottest year on record. Children are the most affected by climate crisis. They’re uniquely vulnerable to heatwaves, cyclones, flooding & climate hazards. Let’s make 2024 count & take urgent #ClimateAction to protect the lives & futures of children.
