Where is the boundary of the wildfire smoke and its health impacts? Smoke has no boundary, causing serious health problems! Under climate change, the situation is getting worse! Climate action is urgent to reduce wildfires!! The Innovation | Medicine the-innovation.org/article/doi/10…

Finally, our paper is published nature. We developed a novel method to estimate landscape fire air pollution across the world. We found at global level fire air pollution has increased from 2000 to 2019. nature.com/articles/s4158…

If you think climate change is far away from you, it is time to rethink. One simple example, yesterday Victoria experienced extreme heat, wildfires, storm and outage in the same day. Those climate extremes can increase risks of human health. Climate action is urgent!

Congrats Tingting! We found exposure to extreme heat during the 3rd trimester increased the risk of preterm births. The risk could be mitigated when pregnant women were surrounded by greater level of greenery and tree cover. More greenness, more trees, healthier new born!!

A great comment. In summary, current methods estimating the health impacts of climate change are quite limited, detection and attribution studies to accurately quantify the health impacts of human-induced climate change are increasingly important! nature.com/articles/s4159…

Recently many countries are affected by floods seriously. Our new study shows flood exposure before the last menstrual period and during trimester 1 can significantly increase the risks of preterm birth, still birth, and small for gestational age. Congratulations Zhengyu (Eddy) Yang

Our latest Lancet study found that air pollution from landscape fires(>90% were wildfires) can cause 1.53 million deaths/year, with over 90% of the burden in lower and middle-income countries Yuming Guo Monash Public Health VicHealth thelancet.com/journals/lance…

With MCCStudy and global experts, we estimated that landscape fire smoke was associated with 1.5 million deaths annually from 2000 to 2019. Alarmingly, this burden has been increasing, with the majority of deaths occurring in LTMICs. Congrats Rongbin Xu thelancet.com/journals/lance…
