I cannot emphasise enough what a brilliant and important organisation this is for both teaching and teachers. Every school and every teacher should join (I do think it holds great value even for teachers of other subjects).

Far more “British values” on display from the imam offering anti-Muslim demonstrators a cup of tea and a chat than from the idiots throwing stones at his mosque.

Let me be absolutely crystal fucking clear Farage Nigel Farage MP, you do not, nor have you, or will you, ever speak for, or represent me, on account of me not being a bigot, racist or xenophobe. You and your divisive, shit stirring rhetoric fucking disgust me.

It's impossible to view the postings of Farage, without utter revulsion. He masquerades as a " reasoned commentator" on what he claims to be a national crisis linked to immigrants while claiming he deplores any lawlessness. Then he hints at more lawlessness if his warnings are

So proud of our Olympic team representing our country but then devastated to see the mindless, ill-informed (mostly men) attacking our country, our police and our democracy. Farage and Bravaman have a lot to answer for.

I wonder what the cost is of all these riots and where that money could have been spent. Wonder also about all the work the police can't do because of putting themselves on the front line of an attacking mindless mob.

Result of misinformation regarding asylum seekers and blaming them for austerity and cost of living crisis. The Daily Mail, Suella Braverman, Nigel Farage and others have manipulated these rioters, sown fear and have aided a virus to spread across our country for their own gain

Phonics plays a vital role in children learning to both read and write. But it must be set within the context or a broad, rich and balanced literacy curriculum, fuelled by quality texts and rich learning experiences. This is what Dominic Wyse and I explore in The Balancing Act.

This, and the National Literacy Trust survey data will come as no shock to those in the know about teaching reading (including appropriate and good quality teaching of phonics!) but should be seriously looked at in the Curriculum and Assessment Review, if decisions are made on evidence.
