The Trump admin canceled an annual report on hunger & food insecurity in America. This comes AFTER they made historic cuts to food stamps. They don’t want the public to know how much worse off American families are because of their policies.

I had a front row seat to Alvaro Bedoya political journey he reflects on in a brilliant essay today. He was a damn fine FTC Commissioner. Here is the key political reality: democratic politics that centers working class economics is a super-majoritarian path to political power.

So after we built an addictive tool based on stolen data, exploited labor and plundering the environment, which pushes kids to commit suicides, we were like, why not cash in on "erotica"? After all, this is what building so-called AGI that "benefits humanity" looks like.

Kind of terrifying that apparently Sam Altman thinks "so far, the technology has not produced a really scary giant risk" Causing psychosis + inciting suicide and murder seems scary to me x.com/LuizaJarovsky/…

The crypto industry is refreshing in that they openly talk about buying elections I’m sure it’s annoying for the policy people that visit the Hill and have to pretend that they have lofty policy goals about innovation or whatever

Crypto gets an hour long (maybe longer?) audience with United States Senators during a government shutdown (something most constituents can only dream of) and responds like teenage boys shouting “DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHO MY DAD IS?” after getting pulled over.

Donald Trump has pardoned Binance founder Changpeng Zhao. Binance has been a major supporter of Trump's crypto projects, and Trump has already made millions after Binance accepted a $2 billion investment from an Emirati fund denominated in the Trump family's USD1 stablecoin.

Does anyone know yet if Binance itself also received a pardon? Early reports of the pardon of BitMEX co-founders failed to note the corporation itself also received a pardon (which appears to be the first-ever literal corporate pardon)

I think people have forgotten that Timothy Mellon was very quietly the largest individual campaign donor this past election cycle (greater than Musk, Miriam Adelson, Jeff Yass) and it wasn't even close
