We have enough soca that Kadooment should be dominated by Bajan soca. It’s not the space for other genres. I also love the other islands’ soca. But this is our time. Crop Over (especially Kadooment) should be about Bajan soca playing predominantly.

When I play mas in other countries, it is predominantly their soca that plays. If Bajan soca plays it only occupies a little bit of the set. That’s fine because you go to embrace the cultural nuances of their music. We have to respect and promote our music in the same way.
