The Council has received contractor Alun Griffiths’ latest update on the #Rhigos Mountain Rd repairs. The final phase has proven very challenging with a further 700 tonnes of rock needing to be removed and transported from site, which was unexpected in the initial programme (1/2)

The major mountainside repairs at #Rhigos Mountain Road are now entering their final few days. The Council can confirm that substantial work completion, and the reopening of the road, is still on course for Friday, November 22 (1/2)

Rhigos Mountain Road A4061 impassable due to flooding. Not officially confirmed as yet.

Rhigos Mountain Road A4061 open with a little bit of surface water in places and fog, the road from the roundabout to the A465 by the open cast is closed due to the flooding yesterday so you have to go to glynneath.

Following the recent poor weather, repair work to the road surface is required on the A4061 #Rhigos Mountain Road, near the #Treherbert end (1/3)

Temporary traffic lights have been put in place at the pictured location as a necessary safety measure. Mitigation work will begin tomorrow (Wednesday, February 26), with initial repairs carried out under traffic lights over the coming days (2/3)

Further essential work will take place at a separate location on the road next week. This will require two overnight road closures, with exact dates and details to be confirmed shortly. Thank you to residents and road users for your patience (3/3)
