The Council has received contractor Alun Griffiths’ latest update on the #Rhigos Mountain Rd repairs. The final phase has proven very challenging with a further 700 tonnes of rock needing to be removed and transported from site, which was unexpected in the initial programme (1/2)

Rhigos Mountain Road A4061 open with a little bit of surface water in places and fog, the road from the roundabout to the A465 by the open cast is closed due to the flooding yesterday so you have to go to glynneath.

Temporary traffic lights have been put in place at the pictured location as a necessary safety measure. Mitigation work will begin tomorrow (Wednesday, February 26), with initial repairs carried out under traffic lights over the coming days (2/3)
