It WORKS! For the first time ever on the DC Metro system, you can tap a credit card at a faregate to enter a 🚇 station (SmarTrip cards aren’t going away - you can still reload & use them. This is just a new “tap ride go” option, similar to NYC subway) NBC4 Washington
