So this morning I accidentally prematurely saved a note and then tried to delete it to rewrite it because you can’t unsave it and instead I managed to delete the ward round entry. Shouts to the medical team who were very sound about it all and just laughed. Happy Friday 🙃.

Thought I was alright at interpreting a chest X-ray and then I rotated to thoracic surgery and now I would please just like to have the knowledge of a radiographer, is that too much to ask for?

An excellent article that promotes the value of occupational therapy and physiotherapy in acute hospital The Guardian: It’s not just a lack of social care that’s keeping older people trapped in hospital beds. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

The big roll of tubing was finally restocked on the ward today so I can now make bubble PEP again. That has been the highlight of my day 🫧

4k Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) physiotherapists are striking today. They were there during Covid drafted onto ICU wards to prone patients. They ensure people recover faster and get back to their life sooner. They keep patients out of hospital. People like me don't write nearly enough about them.

Two years since this recently resurfaced note was written. Feels like both yesterday and forever ago #StillALittleNewbieOnTheInside

We’ve written to Steve Barclay to confirm next week’s strike is going ahead, after his last-minute letter. Read the full letter from Dr Robert Laurenson Vivek Trivedi #JuniorDoctorsStrike bma.org.uk/bma-media-cent…

Thanks to this Government, junior doctors can now make more money serving coffee than saving patients. From tomorrow we take #JuniorDoctorsStrike action so we’re paid what we’re worth.

I have reworked my thread on the NHS pay deal having read more about it. The argument I make is the same, but the data is slightly different, so this is version 2 of why the NHS is at very real risk because of this deal. A thread….

Very lucky to get to spend time in theatres this morning observing a Robotic Assisted Thoracoscopic lung resection surgery. Completely fascinated with the technology, skill and expertise of the whole theatres team!

Back in October I got an email from Milly Khan, a Neuro-Physiotherapists working at Guy's and St Thomas' explaining to me the benefits of high intensity exercise for people living with Parkinson’s disease. In the message she said...

Did you know long term respiratory conditions affect 1 in 5 people in the UK? Pulmonary rehabilitation helps people with a long term respiratory condition to breathe better and do more. Talk to your GP, practice nurse or hospital team for more details. #PulmonaryRehabWeek

Overheard in A&E, Ireland: “36.5? Is that normal? I don’t know what’s normal for a human but a lamb is 39. I’ll google it”

Thought I sent an email to just one sub-group of my dept but no. Someone has sneakily added the entire dept mailing list into the sub-group mailing list. So now I am one of those people who send department-wide “sorry for the mass email” emails. Gone to hand in my notice.
