#RSThrowbackThursday to the incredible journey of Joseph Wells (OR 1871 - 1875). As one of the first intake of students at Erleigh Road, he became Vice Chancellor of Oxford University and served as Chairman of Governors and President of the Old Redingensians Club for 30 years.

#RSThrowBackThursday Did you know? In 1937, the Southern Counties Chess Union awarded Reading School a prestigious shield, recognizing it as one of the leading chess schools in the UK! The shield later became the prize for our House Chess Championship.

#RSThrowbackThursday This superb Shield, a treasured part of our school's history, was first presented in 1895 to the winner of the annual House Cricket Competition. It was generously gifted by Joseph Sydenham, a significant local benefactor and founder of Reading FC.
