Tomorrow will be an exciting day at The Universities at Shady Grove. The new BSE building represents the best of the USM regional center model—affordable and accessible education for students, innovation partners for nearby businesses, and quality-of-life enhancements for the entire community.

Congratulations to Dr. Mohan Suntha on being named the president and CEO of the University of Maryland Medical System. He is the perfect leader for UMMS; his accomplishments at University of Maryland Medical Center and SJMCTowson are a strong foundation on which to build. I look forward to working with him.

I attended the Greater Baltimore Committee breakfast this am... County Executive Kathy Klausmeier Johnny Olszewski has a great vision for Baltimore County and the region, part of which involves two of the major anchor institutions in the county, UMBC and Towson University.

I am honored by the Board’s announcement naming me as Chancellor Emeritus. It has been my distinct pleasure to serve the State of Maryland as University System of Maryland Chancellor these past 5 years, and as Towson University president, provost, dean and faculty member earlier in my career.
