I haven’t read the paper yet. Honestly, it will take SA about 15-20 years if we try be optimistic about being on somewhat on the same level as China. But it could also, realistically, take 40-50 years to have things together like China. It depends how you want to look at this.

My reading list on greening structural change for this year's African Programme on Rethinking Development Economics in Johannesburg, with 11 African authors (out of 18). So if you're teaching the topic, there is a wide range of African & global south perspectives to pick from.
