An organized pogrom took place tonight against Arabs in Bat Yam despite the fact they they all learned about Kristallnacht. Today, in my Haaretz article I wrote, "We need to see, what a blatantly racist society we have become." I wish I had been wrong.

Yesterday I learned Micky Levy-Israel's new Speaker of the Knesset, is a Kurdish Jew. His parents are from Cizre, Turkey. Many don't know that Kurdish Jews pride themselves on their Kurdish past, preserving traditions, even if they don't speak Kurdish dialects but rather Aramaic.

Israel offered aid to Turkey, and it was not accepted (even if Erdogan did include them in his international message of thanks). Now, Turkey's FM says a Turkish company is renting firefighting planes from an Israeli company So, why not just accept the original aid Israel offered?

Then I said good bye to Bergama. I wish I was able to see the ancient city, but I discovered a fantastic city in its place which I hope I will return to in the near future.

I arrived to Çanakkale and visited Mekor Hayim Synagogue built in 1890. The community which numbered 600 families in mid 19th century continued to dwindle during WWI, the 1934 Thrace Events (attacks on Jewish communities)and mass flight to Israel. Today 3 Jews are left in city.
