Last weekend, a 28 Squadron RAF Chinook from @rafbensonofficial made a precautionary landing in Arthog, N Wales during Ex KUKRI DAWN. @royalairforcevalley MRT were the first on scene; providing four Troops for immediate crash guard to protect the aircraft and also the public.

APCIM and MACA are RAF Mountain Rescues primary and secondary roles and today marks the final day of their annual winter training courses. Well done to everyone who made these courses a success and to all the Troops that took part, gaining essential winter mountaineering skills.

RAF Valley was out training and assisting TAM Llanberis MRT on a number of callouts over the weekend. It was an excellent weekend to demonstrate the skills and capabilities of the Mountan Rescue Service to Air Commodore Thompson, who visited a training weekend.

Members  of Leeming MRT attended the remembrance service held at Great Gable on Sunday. They took part in the national 2-minute silence at 11:00 to remember all the lives lost to war.

RAF Valley MRT conducted joint training with @AberglaslynMRTand SARDA Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. The teams conducted a simulated callout for 4 casualties injured in difficult ground. This training is essential to increasing interoperability between Mountain Rescue Teams.

It has been a very busy festive period for the MRS carrying out training in arduous winter conditions. RAF Valley MRT and RAF Lossiemouth MRT provided duty teams for Christmas and New Year respectively.

Over the last two weeks, personnel from all three RAF Mountain Rescue Teams have come together in North Wales to attend the RAF MRS Summer Mountaineering Course. All personnel made significant progress in their training towards MRS Awards and in readiness for SAR Ops.
