50 years ago, high on barren Dartmoor, a high stone wall was erected around a sluice gate. Built for safety, it kept sheep outside an area the size of a football pitch. It's now a rich, lush cloud forest *teeming* with species. Trust in nature. ๐ŸŒŽ

Really struggling to come to terms with the loss of John Burnside. We were so incredibly lucky to work with him on these two incredible books. A relationship that spanned a decade. He was a complete joy to work with. Damn it John 69 is too soon. Weโ€™ll miss him hugely. ๐Ÿ’”

Sometimes I find myself perplexed & delighted, charmed & bemused by the image carved on old gravestones. This portrait of the โ€œman in the baggy shortsโ€ is just such an image. What on earth should we make of this ?

Interesting to see the angry reactions to this. Could it be that some people are uncomfortable with being reminded that their lunch used to be a sentient creature?

800 years ago, a seven-year-old boy was supposed to be doing his homework on a piece of birch bark. Instead, he drew this picture and wrote, "I am a wild beast." There's always the wild little artist in the back of the classroom. โค๏ธ
