While Farage was not invited to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph today, there was nothing to stop him, as a local MP, from attending Clacton's moving Rememberance day ceremony today. Did he go? tendringdc.gov.uk/news/clacton-p…

Reform have suspended nine Kent councillors, include five members of the fire authority, which is now “a shambles and a threat to public safety” according to the Fire Brigades Union. But yeah, let them run the whole country.

I am old enough to remember when we were told the UK needed to leave the EU to stop "foreign interference" (altho of course there we *shared* making trading decisions with our fellow club members) & that Obama was the devil incarnate for his comments during the Brexit referendum

Do BBC political shows include too many rightwing panellists? With me in the studio to discuss this are Isabel Oakeshott, Julia Hartley-Brewer, Tim Stanley and Nigel Farage.

🎯 Davey is spot on. "We can have criticism of the BBC, but within that, we need to recognise how valuable an institution it is [and how] precious to our country. And that's one of the reasons why people like President Trump and Nigel Farage, want to undermine the BBC." 👏🏽~AA

NEW: Rachel Reeves signals she intends to remove the two-child cap *in full* "I don't think a child should be penalised because they're in a bigger family through no fault of their own," she tells BBC.

‘Coups are like concrete, when they stop moving, they set.’ So I see the TED Talks I gave in April is going viral again. Suspect it’s not going to get any less relevant…

Liverpool have contacted the BBC today to register their fury over their use of disgraced former newspaper editor Kelvin McKenzie as part of their coverage. Peter Scarfe from Hillsborough Survivors Support Alliance: "It's insulting and it's offensive." nytimes.com/athletic/67944…

This is why the hard right in Britain wants to destroy the BBC. It’s not because they want impartiality, they’ve benefitted from Tories at the top platforming them, they want free rein to plug the gaps of mistrust with conspiracy and disinfo so they can attain unchecked power.

Trump and his cronies have the BBC in their sights. Leaders can’t stay silent while one of our great institutions is attacked. We must defend its independence, end political appointments, and remove Robbie Gibb from the Board.

Absolutely right. My aim is to shake their calcs by making the attrition rate far higher than their modelling. To hit em in the pockets with so many leaving it knows not to try this again & its competitors realise not to do the same thing. This is my 'crowd-regulation' theory!

SUPERB and angrily unvarnished response, by former BBC chairman, Lord Patten. "I don't think that we should allow ourselves to be bullied into thinking that the BBC is only any good, if it reflects the prejudice of the last person who shouted at it." ~AA

I did NOT expect to be punching the air and going "HELL YES!" to Chris Patten. But what he says is SO rarely said and needed saying SO badly! "How shall we treat Mr Farage's concerns? Shall we hail Brexit a tremendous success? Something that has cost the country billions?"
