#auspol Anyone remember SARS the Covid Precursor? I was in China at the time and the University I visited kept patients. It was proud to call itself the SARS University. It may have even had some stamps printed.

Prof Mick Wilson 1 David Siegel I’m sure that mariners (pirates of the Caribbean, for example) never had a bottle of rum and checked the sea surface temperature a little early or late. Oh, and the sample was taken at exactly the same depth every day. Sailors aren’t scientists.

Prof Mick Wilson 1 Zeke Hausfather Thank you! I am not remotely an expert but can see that a lot of the hysterias is built on worst case speculative modelling, just as the COVID lockdown hysteria was built on ridiculous worst case Imperial College modelling which was known wrong by mid 2020 but hysteria continued.

#auspol Interesting stuff on tree lines in the aAlps. Interesting proxy and much stronger when the wood is measured for ring growth and isotope data
