Feel v privileged to have attended a fabulous University of Derby event for alumni & friends in London on Tuesday evening with Laura Baddiley inspiring presentations from all including William Burlington Prof Kath Mitchell CBE and wonderful rich discussions. Great to meet new people & see old friends too!

21.v.25 Delighted to attend opening of Derby Museums new exhibition on Wright of Derby. Focus is upon Wright’s drawing & sketches. Work which is perhaps largely unknown (to me) and all held here in Derby. It is sublime: chiaroscuro & contouring technique combine. Go see.

At the end of a very busy week I joined Derby Book Festival to listen to my old friend Alan Johnson talk about his book. Good to have such a great series of talks for all tastes at the festival. Another cultural gem in our region.


Excited to be making my Derby Book Festival debut today, interviewing Paul Sinton-Hewitt the man behind parkrun UK. Whilst nervous about my first appearance I know I will be safe with the parkrun community who make everyone feel welcome.
