At the end of a very busy week I joined Derby Book Festival to listen to my old friend Alan Johnson talk about his book. Good to have such a great series of talks for all tastes at the festival. Another cultural gem in our region.

Excited to be making my Derby Book Festival debut today, interviewing Paul Sinton-Hewitt the man behind parkrun UK. Whilst nervous about my first appearance I know I will be safe with the parkrun community who make everyone feel welcome.

Yesterday we had two Civiclab events, history talks, a proof party and a an incredible talk from UK Poet Laureate Simon Armitage, sponsored by @geldards (📸 @shaymckennaphotography) and children had crafts and a brilliant theatre performance.

A small but mighty day at our Summer Festival yesterday! Our two events yesterday ranged from literary fiction with Andrew McMillan to British Rail with Christian Wolmar and our final children's event was a creative graphic novel builder workshop with Edward Ross. A great day!

And that is it. Our Summer Festival is officially finished! An incredible end to an incredible festival. Thank you to everyone who joined us at our Summer Festival! We appreciate you all for supporting.
