This week Year 3 have been healthy, confident individuals. We have participated in orienteering which helped develop our communication and team building skills. In gymnastics, we practised moving in a variety of ways using the different apparatus.

Y3&4 visited Big Pit today to find out about Wales’ mining history, as part of our Cynefin topic. We saw artefacts and learnt about rock types, the lives of miners and the highlight of the trip was a fantastic underground tour! Diolch ⁦Big Pit Coal Museum

A fabulous Forest School session with Year 2 this week. They worked as a team to learn safe fire skills. They loved toasting marshmallows over the fire and making s’mores. Outdoor Learning Lab #ambitiouscapablelearners

We’re in second place for a Tesco grant at the moment! You have the power, until the end of the day on Monday, to turn this around and get into store in Abergavenny putting blue coins in the middle box! Thank you for your support, let’s go for gold🥇

An enjoyable Forest School session with Year 3 this week. We discussed what things you would need to make a fire, such as twigs and sticks which would need to get bigger to feed the fire. What better way to celebrate having a fire than toasting marshmallows.

Blwyddyn 1 have been busy creating self portraits from natural materials, exploring the properties of 2D shapes and making water gauges to measure our rainfall in centimetres. We await the measurement of rain over the weekend and we’ll see if the estimates are anywhere near! ☔️
