Hello world, hello #cryptotwitter: we're here now: PLANETMINT, the Blockchain metadata storage extension. Take a first look here: planetmint.io and also here for the full press release: ipdb.io/wp-content/upl… And stay tuned, more to come! IPDB Association e.V.

PLANETMINT was developed as part of the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) PCP project, suggested by IPDB Association e.V. members Riddle&Code, Dyne.org and Tinexta infocert (digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/news/europe…), offering a secure & scalable blockchain data storage & orchestration layer: public infrastructure for all.

We contributed to further develop BigchainDB into Planetmint to extend Bitcoin and Ethereum to support sharded metadata side to side with IPFS's p2p-file approach. Data-availability proofs and hardware oracles as fundamental tech for the physical part of the web3.

The upcoming days I will introduce the most interesting aspects of Planetmint, the evolution of BigchainDB into a modular metadatabase blockchain on top of @Tendermint. The name gives a hint about its interoperability with IPFS by sharing InterPlanetary Linked Data (IPLD).

Planetmint is a quite natural extension to IPFS as it functions a "sharded", distributed, application and database service. Scales pretty well and offers powerful funtions for data availability proofs.

It is built for efficient in data-intensive systems & supports horizontal scaling based on sharding. Handling contract metadata without clogging the blockchain. The power stems from @Tarantaool for storing of and operating on data. Probably the first blockchain based on Tarantool
