7/ In Atlanta, things are a bit different: number of ballots cast rose across the board. Majority-Black precincts swung *very* narrowly toward Trump in % terms, but still backed Biden 93 to 6 Result: majority-Black Atlanta precincts added ~15K more votes to Biden

8/ Maricopa County, AZ is another example of how % swing is different than vote swing: Phoenix swung *slightly* toward Trump, but it still added more votes to Ds than Rs As with a lot of election narratives, **MORE THAN ONE THING CAN BE TRUE AT THE SAME TIME**

Another piece of ours I care deeply about out today: Lived Experience, Research Leadership, & the Transformation of Mental Health Services: Building a Researcher Pipeline #PsychServices (thread). ps.psychiatryonline.org/doi/full/10.11…

I am so excited to see this piece in print! Thanks so much to Nev Jones PhD and my other collaborators for involving me. Many of you know that I have a psych disability--this offers a new take on why we need people like us doing mental health research and how we can promote it.

Super excited to see this paper out today. We need to take steps at every level to ensure that people with ongoing psychiatric disabilities can obtain true leadership positions in mental health research. Thank you Nev Jones PhD and the other amazing co-authors for including me

Essential reading advocating for the inclusion of persons with lived experience in #research #leadership and transformation of #mentalhealth services. πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

So much here to digest - the responsibility of researchers to create a pathway for those they research to become the researcher; being at the table in which your community is the objectified 'target'; investing in the future career path of people with lived experience

Having experienced homelessness, poverty, and mental health issues this article strongly resonates with me as a future behavioral health provider and researcher.

I believe income inequality is the single best predictor of total Covid deaths in the US. Not income, but income *inequality*. The R^2 is surprisingly high: 0.35. Thanks to Joe Sill, I was able to look at over 40 different variables, and expands on my analysis from last month.

I keep wondering if there’s some lesson here re the value of trying to influence current NIMH leadership. I keenly remember how hopeless some of my grad mentors felt about Insel before he left…in hindsight I wonder if they’d have done more to try and engage him had they known

An initial booklet of our (@SPagdon & Marie Brown) Rethink Negative Symptoms project is now posted! Still a relatively small number of contributions, but they're powerful. Check them out and if you want to contribute, please still do!! (rethinkpsychosis.weebly.com/rethink-negati…)

The 2021 meta paper on nudging had this funnel plot. I remember laughing out loud when I saw it. Seems obviously a mix of publication bias and fraud. This is a field that won a Nobel prize in 2017. doi.org/10.1073/pnas.2… Commentary quoted below unpacks it transparently

Having RFK Jr. as HHS secretary is one of the ~2-3 worst things about Trump 2.0 so far, great job by Susan Collins et. al. noahpinion.blog/p/did-rfk-just…
