Arrived at the field site early to make the most of the day light hours and was treated to this beauty of a sunrise 🤗 …but somehow forgot the freakin’ field laptop, the one item I needed 🤦🏻‍♂️ #shouldhavehadmorecoffee

Arguably less dramatic sunrise this morning, but at least I remembered the laptop!

I’ll be leaving eri soon for pastures new. Downloading data from loggers on #MunsaryPeatlands was my first day of fieldwork when I joined back in 2016 so a revisit today felt very apropos. Many happy 🌤 (& some miserable ⛈) days spent on this bog with Dr Chris Marshall.

Equal parts sad (1) to leave colleagues and friends eri & @UHI_NH and (2) that this probably marks retirement for Luna #bogdog. Old age and aching hips mean she’ll be more happy curled up at home than romping across bogs. But I’ll remember these days fondly.
