The National Post article claims there is an outrageous new bill to jail ordinary citizens who speak up for oil and gas. Wild story. But not true. Bill #C372 is limited to corporate campaigns making false claims about the "benefits" of burning fossil fuels as the planet burns.

You've hit a nerve Charlie Angus. One can measure the merit & strength of a climate policy by the reaction of the oil and gas companies and their political/media defenders. By that measure, your proposed bill to prohibit fossil fuel advertising is a winner! Good on ya!

A new study used Twitter to track US climate denial. Authors identified a "coordinated social media network uses periodic events, like cold weather or climate conferences, to sow disbelief and Trump was the strongest influencer in this network." nature.com/articles/s4159….

.Justin Trudeau Chrystia Freeland, how are we supposed to reach climate goals if our financial system is pouring billions into #FossilFuels? It's time to #TakeCashOutOfCarbon. Tell the federal government to regulate banks👇 Greenpeace Canada act.gp/3unTAm6

By the 1980s Big Oil had amassed enough science to know that if they continued on the path of promoting fossil fuel expansion, the damage would become apparent in the 2000s and by then it might be too late. Canada's Big Oil continues to lie. BillC372 will end the lies.

Amazing how, in a record #drought and #wildfire year, Suncor's $900 million tax benefit just about covers the $1 billion it paid out in dividends and share repurchases. The #ClimateEmergency is being funded by #taxpayers. Steven Guilbeault Ryan Jespersen newsfilecorp.com/release/198800…

Two years ago today, Ukrainian climate scientist Svitlana Krakovska was finishing her chapter for the latest IPCC report as the bombs began to fall on Kyiv. She sees a clear and direct link between the attack and our fight against climate change. nature.com/articles/s4156…

BAM! France to ban short haul domestic flights. This is a great initiative we need other countries to follow. We have so many solutions. Implement them. #ActOnClimate #Climate #energy #transportation #renewables #GreenNewDeal

Before the vaccine was developed in 1973, 2.6 million children and pregnant women died of #measles every year. Last year, 136,000 children and pregnant women died of measles. No one gives a toss about the ill-informed opinions of death-denying trolls. theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl…

I'm honestly pretty proud of my profession today seeing how quickly the signees have come in for this letter. As economists, we know that if we want to tackle climate change, carbon pricing is by far the best tool for the job.

One of my favourite things about Christine Boyle is that she is principled. Members in Little Mountain would be lucky to have someone of her caliber as their candidate in the next election.

BC has the strongest economy in Canada under David Eby. Don’t believe me? Here’s the proof; -we’re the only province with AAA credit rating from an agency -BC’s debt-to-GDP ratio is half of Ontario -highest average wages in Canada -$117B capital investment in last two years
