DAY FOUR / Hand Earth Gesture Return More making with clay & straw, and Lady Godiva even paid a visit! Clay adornments were applied to the structure, and our amazing artists have been working on something very exciting for the ‘Water ritual’ finale performance on Sunday, 4 - 5 pm

On the final day of Hand Earth Gesture Return, streams of water were set in motion to erode our installation. The last cob mix was made and applied to the closing fragment, taking the force of multiple people to move in place. We celebrated by dancing to the beat of the drums.

Hand Earth Gesture Return fragments now installed at The Peace Orchard in Coundon Hall Park, continuing the erosion process! Other materials from Hand Earth Gesture Return start a new life cycle, having been donated to local allotments and community groups.

Congrats to the Hand Earth Gesture Return artists & teams for creating such an incredible, original piece of temporary, public art. Using natural, locally grown & sustainable materials, we transformed Coventry Canal Basin into a site of continuous making. Thanks to all involved!
