Too many universities are acting as recruitment pipelines into the industries responsible for the climate and ecological crisis. We’re building a movement for Fossil Free Careers. ✊ Will you sign our petition and back the campaign? πŸ‘‡ peopleandplanet.org/petitions/foss…

πŸ’₯New: In a (literal) seismic policy shift, the government plans to lift the fracking ban tomorrow by reviewing the level of seismic activity – earthquakes – allowed at sites. Jacob Rees-Mogg tells BBC Newsnight the current level allowed, ~0.5 on the Richter scale, is 'too low.'

Birbeck University has SUCCESFULLY implemented a BAN ON FOSSIL FUEL COMPANY RECRUITMENT. Students should not be lured into jobs which are dead-end and deadly to people and planet. And who says we can't do the same at Oxford... #FossilFreeCareers

Birkbeck Univ of London (where Marcus Garvey, Nobelist Roger Penrose, and Bear Grylls all studied, and where Kathleen Booth wrote the first computer assembly language) becomes the 1st school in UK (and maybe on earth) to ban oil and gas recruiting Because...it wrecks the climate
