As a former geography teacher and self-proclaimed GIS nerd, I’m thrilled to proclaim today as Geographic Information Systems Day. Here in Minnesota, we are using GIS to make state government more effective - whether we’re replacing lead pipes or expanding homeownership.

Swindon Council Result #LE2024: LAB: 14 (+9) CON: 6 (-9) Council Now: LAB 41, CON 15, LDM 1. Labour HOLD.

Welwyn Hatfield is good for Labour. The Conservatives had 10/12 seats up, but 2022 and 2023 suggested they lose seats in a way that would create a tie between the Labour and Lib-Dem local partners. But Labour did better, taking two expectd Lib-Dem gains for the overall plurality.

Interesting result. Labour lose seats to a Muslim Indie group, in the Muslim-heavy areas, running more or less a single-issue Gaza platform. In other areas though the Tories just fall and Labour make gains.

Burnley Labour fragmented after Gaza last year, with the Muslim councilors going Indie and forming their own administration with the Greens and Lib-Dems. Labour have advances versus all parts of this coalition and even taking back defector wards.

Adur Council Result #LE2024: LAB: 13 (+8) CON: 1 (-8) GRN: 1 (=) IND: 1 (=) Council Now: LAB 17, CON 8, GRN 2, IND 2. Labour GAIN from Conservative.

East Midlands Mayoral Result: 🌹 Ward (LAB): 40.3% 🌳 Bradley (CON): 28.8% 🌍 Adlington-Stringer (GRN): 11.3% ➡️ Graves (RFM): 10.9% 🙋 Relf (IND): 5.2% 🔶 Tamblyn-Saville (LDM): 3.6% Labour WIN New Mayorality. electionmaps.uk/le2024.

Tamworth has fallen to another Labour Sweep. This was near-uniformly Conservative for a long time - completely Tory in 2021. Then the incumbent MP's scandals became public . This landslide follows a similar 2023 result and the subsequent Tamworth parliamentary By-Election gain.

Reform's first seats won outside of Derby:

Basildon Council Result #LE2024: LAB: 18 (+6) CON: 13 (-12) IND/LOC: 11 (+6) Conservative LOSE to No Overall Control.

Dudley results in the Black Country near Birmingham. Important council, since it's full of tight Parliamentary seats, and every councilor was up. Labour and Tories tied at 34, with the 3 Lib-Dems likely to side with Labour here. 3 councilors per ward, dot means ward went 2 to 1

Bristol Council Result #LE2024: GRN: 34 (+10) LAB: 21 (-3) LDM: 8 (=) CON: 7 (-7) No Overall Control - No Change.

Dorset Council Result #LE2024: LDM: 42 (+13) CON: 30 (-13) GRN: 4 (=) IND/LOC: 4 (=) LAB: 2 (=) Liberal Democrat GAIN from Conservative.

Elmbridge Council Result #LE2024: LDM: 7 (+4) LOC: 5 (-2) CON: 3 (-3) IND: 1 (+1) Council Now: LDM 23, LOC 15, CON 9, IND 1. No Overall Control - No Change.
