Not totally sure about Ivo van Hove’s production at the Metropolitan Opera but baritone Peter Mattei sure is an amazing Don Giovanni.
Cried at the end of the Metropolitan Opera’s La Bohème. Yannick Nézet-Séguin really brought out the beauty of this score.

Surprised but pleased to find myself at SF Symphony tonight because of Axel Feldheim. Loved hearing Beethoven‘s Piano Concerto No. 3 with soloist Bruce Liu and Maestro Rafael Payare.
Excited to be seeing 3 operas in SF in as many days, starting with The Shining by Paul Moravec at Opera Parallèle this evening.

Kaija Saariaho’s Adriana Mater makes a great case for live performance and SF Symphony sounded focused and consistent tonight playing this work. Soloists and chorus were also excellent.
Would totally go hear Adriana Mater at SF Symphony again: operatattler.typepad.com/opera/2023/06/…
Very curious to hear Gabriela Lena Frank’s El último sueño de Frida y Diego at San Francisco Opera tonight. First Spanish-language opera for this company and first commissioned female composer on the main stage.
