🎙️Listen to Nimesh Chahare (Nimesh Chahare), postdoc Columbia University. Nimesh shares his work on epithelial mechanics during development. youtube.com/watch?v=R9MYWO…

How is metabolism interconnected with cellular dynamics? We are Eirini Maniou and @hpscenthusiast and through an energy inexpensive process, we will highlight advances in mechano-metabolism and related fields🧵@epimechfc

👀 Need to keep close eye on this topic. Great 🧵 by Eirini Maniou and Makis Ampartzidis for epithelial mechanics fan club

🥳🍾 We got our Christmas present -- our paper was accepted in PNAS!! PNASNews 😀🎄🎅 (Preprint link below) Congrats to my grad student Shubham Sinha University of Miami Department of Physics and collaborators 淺井理恵子(Rieko Asai) and Prof. Takashi Mikawa UC San Francisco 🎉🎆😀

We have the first Gulmohar talk of 2025 here! Nikhil Mishra and A. Thamarailingam will talk about their work this time. 🗓️14 Jan ⏰6 PM IST If you would like to attend, please fill out this form and we'll share the Zoom link. forms.gle/ooiFFVhVzvnmiF…

Thrilled to share our new preprint on detecting the nematic orientation field on surfaces of 3D multicellular systems! biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Huge thanks to all authors: Toby Andrews, Joe Pollard, Rashmi Priya @rashmi-priya.bsky.social, Alpha Yap & Richard G. Morris ! Any 3D system?

Really happy to see this out. Thanks to the past and present members of the Heisenberg Lab Edouard Hannezo groups, especially Irene Li, who did all the theory for this study, and the awesome infrastructure ISTAustria Imaging & Optics Facility (IOF/ISTA) and the aquatics facility.

After a long journey, our research is out! I am happy to have contributed to this work, alongside with Oriol Mañé Benach and many others. 👇🧵for more info

The evolution of shape diversity through the lens of physics—explored in our new paper! A fruitful collaboration between our lab @EMBL, Salbreux’s lab unige & others, led by Bailleul Richard—now independent at École normale supérieure | PSL—& Nicolas Cuny. bit.ly/3WRqdEa

I’m delighted to share that I am starting as an Assistant Professor National Centre for Biological Sciences! Our lab will explore how mechanical forces shape organ architecture, regulate germ cell fate, and drive collective cell migration- using C. elegans as a model system.

Three weeks left until the abstract submission deadline for our joint MBI-MPI #mechanobiology conference this September! Mechanobiology Institute Max Planck Society To early career scientists- be sure to apply for a travel award to present your work! mbi.nus.edu.sg/events/mbiconf…

Had a lot of fun discussing my favorite topic, #EpithelialMechanics! Big thanks to Pint of Science US for the opportunity and to NYC for the great turnout! #pint25
