I’ve realised, a day late, that yesterday (27 September 2022) marked the 40th anniversary of me starting my first full-time job: Committee Assistant with Harrow LBC. I have been lucky enough to remain employed/self-employed continuously (with the odd voluntary break) ever since.

Think I’m going to quit Twitter - not because of Musk but because I waste far too much time just doom scrolling through mostly pointless crap that an algorithm has decided might induce me to buy stuff (it won’t). I can’t be arsed with Mastadon so that’s that, I guess.

As proposed by ALASTAIR CAMPBELL we need a mandatory code of conduct for MPs. Too many of them seem to either not know or not care that lying, corruption and betting knowing the outcome are wrong. Standards need to be set and serious penalties imposed on transgressors.
