We are excited to announce that the data from the Lifebrain Global Brain Health Survey has now been made available online. We know many partners and stakeholders have been eager to get a hold of this data.

Brief reminder to teachers/academics in the Netherlands: would you let your students know about our study? Printing a single poster (see below) will go a long way. We're trying to build an early warning system for depression in students, which requires a very large sample.

Lekker geslapen, of liggen #piekeren? Of is dat begonnen nu je weer wakker bent? In onze MINDCOG studie onderzoeken we of piekeren verminderd kan worden door oefeningen die je makkelijk zelf kunt doen. We zoeken deelnemers voor een online studie in het hele land. Delen graag! 1/x

Many meta-analyses have shown that data from female rodents is not more variable than males. But the estrous cycle impacts #fear and #anxiety, so surely females must be more variable than males on tests of these behaviours? Our new meta-analysis says no! authors.elsevier.com/a/1g6VVY3M3aQKV

This is one of my favorite immunopsychiatry papers I've read in a while. Currently, there is so much the disconnect between specificity of theory (e.g., phenotyping + physiometrics) and how intervention trials are designed. We need to close the gap. nature.com/articles/s4138…

Most brain-imaging studies make 3 questionable assumptions: mental events are localizable, map uniquely to dedicated #brain circuitry, & are independent of larger context. These 19th-century views need an update. New #OpenAccess paper in Trends in Cognitive Sciences. 1/ cell.com/trends/cogniti…

Such a cool session this morning on Reward pathways in #obesity and #depression @ECNPtweets ! @albinojorgemaie emphasised the importance of unconscious reinforcement of food reward in obesity (post-ingestion!), rather than conscious food experience. Definitely Food for thought!
