Good evening!! Katie Karr from Virginia Beach. I work as the Title I Resource Teacher for our Title I Department coaching 1st year teachers. My success story for the week is having a large amount of teachers committed to coming to my optional PL next week! #educoach

A1 I feel grateful to be able to offer support to first year teachers in our Title I schools. It allows me to frame my coaching moves from the positive lens as I know it can be easy as a new teacher to be overwhelmed and focused on barriers #educoach

It definitely does have a powerful impact!! #educoach

A2 When I myself am feeling overwhelmed, pause and reflect on what I have accomplished, big and small, and remember to be kind to myself. Because I know I cannot pour from an empty cup. #educoach

A3 Supporting my colleagues by showing up for their important roles to be their teammate and cheerleader and showing students gratitude by celebrating the little wins each day #educoach

A4 I am grateful to be surrounded by some of the most talented educators and hardworking people that are willing to let me learn from them daily and help to build my capacity as a leader so I can support my teachers #educoach

A5 I am grateful to have fostered a level of comfort in my teachers that I support that they are willing to be honest enough to share with me when they are overwhelmed and not in a place to receive feedback/support #educoach

A6 My role is not to provide my teachers with all of the answers and next steps, instead it is to instill the strategies so that when they are faced with new challenges they will have the tools themselves to succeed #esucoach

A8 That maybe…. Gratitude is contagious. I know this conversation helped to shift my mindset tonight from feeling overwhelmed/not enough, to fulfilled and ready to take on tomorrow! (After a good night’s sleep of course 😉) #educoach

A10 I’d like to ask my teachers what they are grateful for this school year. Challenge them to tell me something big and something small. Help them to reframe their mind when they are feeling overwhelmed and stressed. #educoach
