The MOH sent out a guide to physicians & health partners. Pulled up some interesting points. 1) MOH says schools are HIGH RISK settings 2) States that collaborative partnerships should be made & to identify opportunities to work with orgs that serve members at HIGH RISK 👋

With our announcement on #onted bargaining, we wanted to ensure that parents are fully informed. 📢 It is a normal process of labour relations in Ontario. 📢 It is an attempt at resolution. 📢 It is a request for 3rd-party assistance. More etfocb.ca/conciliation-f… #onpoli

Chronic underfunding hurts kids, particularly those with special education needs. The Ford government must do better for students. #onted thetrillium.ca/news/education…

Student on teacher violence is up by 431 incidents from last school year. Data collected "shows that the lion's share of these cases are coming from elementary schools." But violence should NOT be a part of the job! cambridgetoday.ca/local-news/stu… via CambridgeToday #onpoli

Ontario Premier Doug Ford is facing calls to rein in spending after the cost of the Premier's Office more than doubled in five years. "If you look at the premier's office right now, he's got his own gravy train and he's the engineer," said one MPP. #onpoli

We are witnessing the largest cut to public education funding in the history of this province. Instead of constantly attacking teachers and school board trustees, the Minister should just fund education properly. Our children deserve so much better from this government. #onted

My child entered 4th gr with beautiful math strategies and fluency. He is leaving 4th gr conditioned with a bunch of algorithms. I just watched him solve 40-36 using the standard algorithm. 😩 He could solve that 5 years ago without batting an eye. What's happening?😠

I think every member of the Ford government should have to spend June sitting in a classroom without air conditioning. During a heatwave. The ones whose hearts don't explode might change their mind about properly funding school infrastructure.

The temp in a Brampton elementary school this morning – at 7:33 a.m. – well before the start of the day. 28.2C w a relative humidity of 69%. Feels like *31C*. Unsafe & irresponsible. Neither learning nor working can happen effectively in these conditions. #ETFO #OntEd #OnLab

After less than 3 months in the job and just weeks before the start of the school year, Ford's Education Minister is throwing in the towel & heading to the private sector. Families deserve a government that will invest in schools, reduce class sizes and put students first.
