Older students are still kids, even if they have bigger bodies. No adults are in our classrooms. We still need to give students grace, patience, and help them develop socially and emotionally.

Do students need to take lots of tests to prepare for tests? No. Students need a deep understanding of the curriculum that they can transfer to any setting. Practicing "stress" will not make up for a lack of understanding.

The perfect school is, in my opinion: One that relentlessly addresses disruptive behavior, allowing kids to learn. One that explicitly outlines what they intend to teach. One that develops teachers’ capacity to teach those things with the most effective methods we know of.
