The countdown is on... 4 days until the first games this Friday against Robbinsdale Armstrong HS!!

South varsity picked up its first win of the year with a 6-3 victory over Henry today. Justin Benjamin and Colin Davis led the way on the mound. Tommy Tondra and Sam Cooper had two hits apiece and Gavyn Schacher added a long double.

South varsity defeated Edison 12-0 this afternoon. Sam Cooper, Dylan Rathmann, and Tommy Tondra combined for the shutdown. On offense Justin Benjamin, Tommy Tondra, and Sam Cooper had multi-hit games. Gavyn Schacher had a 2-run double. Sam Guindon and AJ Menth added base knocks.

South varsity defeated Washburn 1-0 this afternoon. Sam Cooper struck out 12 over 6 shutout innings and Justin Benjamin closed the door in the 7th. Sam Cooper delivered an RBI single. Owen Solberg, Dylan Rathmann, and Tommy Tondra had hits and Colin Davis played solid defense.

Four games this week for South varsity baseball including a Tuesday afternoon contest against Edison at scenic Van Cleve Park. Forecast is for sun. Game time is 4:00. Get on your orange and black Tigers gear and come out to the Cleve!!!

The Tigers topped Edison 8-3 today behind strong pitching from Andrew Lock and Colin Davis. Gavyn Schacher had two doubles and Sam Guindon and Colin Davis each had two singles. Owen Solberg, Tommy Tondra, and Sam Cooper each had one hit apiece.

The South Tigers evened their season record at 6-6 with a 3-1 victory over Robbinsdale Cooper today. On the bump for South, Sam Cooper allowed 1 hit over 6 1/3 innings and Justin Benjamin recorded the final two outs to nail down the win.

The South Tigers edged Henry 4-2 Saturday afternoon behind strong pitching from Tommy Tondra and Colin Davis. Tariku Westrum Ostrum singled in his first varsity game. Sam Guindon, Tommy Tondra, Owen Solberg, Sam Cooper, and Gavyn Schacher added hits for South.

Senior Day is this Thursday. South baseball will recognize our 8 graduating seniors following our Thursday afternoon home game against Southwest. First pitch is 4:00 at Van Cleve Park and the Senior Day program starts immediately after the game. Let’s go South!!

South topped Roosevelt 6-0 today. AJ Menth struck out 10 over six shutout innings and Colin Davis pitched a clean 7th. Owen Solberg and Sam Cooper had two hits each. Justin Benjamin, Dylan Rathmann, and AJ Menth added one hit each for the Tigers.

South beat Richfield 4-2 under the lights in Richfield. Cyrus Palmer and Colin Davis led the way on the mound. Catcher Sam Guindon nabbed the potential tying run stealing to end the game. Sam Cooper had 3 hits and Gavyn Schacher, Justin Benjamin, and Owen Solberg had 1 hit each.

From Friday night... South celebrates after catching a Richfield runner stealing second to end the game and cement a 4-2 win. The Tigers’ record now stands at 9-7 as we head into the final week of the regular season. Three games this week against North, Kennedy, and Washburn.

South defeated Bloomington Kennedy 3-1. AJ Menth went 6 innings and gave up just 1 hit and 0 runs. Younger brother Alex Menth pitched the 7th for the save. Gavyn Schacher and Tommy Tondra doubled and Dylan Rathmann, Tariku Westrum Ostrum, and Justin Benjamin singled for South.

South capped its regular season with an 8-inning 2-0 victory over Washburn. Sam Cooper, Colin Davis, and Justin Benjamin combined on the shutout. Gavyn Schacher delivered a game-winning 2-run single. A Solberg-to-Tondra-to-Guindon relay cut down a runner at the plate in the 7th.
