Best advice I can give a teacher? 95% of the time? It’s not about you. It’s not an affront to you. It’s not personal. Students have whole lives and they spend a few hours a week being themselves in your class. It’s not that serious. It’s probably not you.

At the end of the year, we award a "student of the year" for each language level; they get a plaque. This year, my two top students use different names at school than at home and I refuse to deadname someone at a ceremony. Thoughts on alternate awards I can buy/use? #langchat

Having a real hard time reconciling my reading course telling me students have to comprehend 90-95% of words to count as "reading" and the idea of using mostly authentic texts. (to be fair I've always had a hard time with authentic texts) #langchat
