Sometimes learning can get messy :) The kiddos loved building their own version of Mesopotamian ziggurats. I love watching them work together to create something from scratch and be creative!

We took our math class to the gym today! The combination of a relay race and working collaboratively to solve word problems was a fan favorite. Thank you Wellness Department for allowing us to utilize the gym!

After learning about finding the area of geometric shapes, the kiddos created “life size” composite figures! They had to measure each shape they used and find its area. They had a blast being creative with them!

Egypt projects were AWESOME! With just a few guidelines and expectations set, the kiddos had choice as to what they wanted to create for their topic and how they wanted to present it. We had skits, a pyramid piñata, a tiered representation of the social classes, and more!

Took our math class to the gym again! The kiddos competed in teams to solve Distributive Property problems while also working together to solve puzzles that revealed clues. The team that solved the problems the fastest decoded the secret message and won! Thank you SMS Wellness!

We kept the Easter theme going in math today for our Math Olympics! The teams grabbed the egg color according to the country they represent and solved the problem inside, then grabbed another egg, until all were solved. First team done got BONUS points! They loved it!

Digital Scoot (surface area) was a success! Took a different take on the way we do Scoots, and my gen ed kiddos loved it. They took on the role of the teacher when their partner needed help. Collaboration and perseverance at its finest! Proud teacher moment! #mathisfun #scoot

Tell Me Something Good Tuesday! Students solved a digital puzzle using jigsaw planet that revealed my Tell Me Something Good example. Then, students joined out class Padlet and shared something good! #imissmykids #tellmesomethinggoodtuesday

Remote learning has taken providing feedback to a whole new level! The kiddos are engaged and interacting with their Digital Interactive Notebooks for math. I can provide immediate, specific feedback by leaving comments and even creating short videos for individual students.

Let the games begin! Math Olympics 2020 has officially began! The Mathletes are competing against each other (digitally, of course) to earn a spot at an awards ceremony (gold, silver, bronze, 4th, or 5th) to determine the points they’ve earned! They’re loving it! #mathisfun

PEER FEEDBACK! Kiddos chose between a digital poster, a song/music video, a poem, or acting out a scene to demonstrate their knowledge on the 4 types of government. Projects were posted to our class Padlet where s’s provided feedback to their peers projects! #socialstudiesisfun

Finding creative ways for S’s at home to collaborate and interact with S’s in the classroom is FUN! Kiddos channeled their inner Egyptians to design and create a crown that represents who they are. They then displayed and critiqued each other’s crowns using Padlet! #learningisfun
