Happy St. Andrew’s Day to all those celebrating! St. Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland, and GAU’s founder Mike will be marking today as a proud Scotsman. It is important to celebrate our individual differences, whilst respecting and appreciating those of others.

Merry Christmas to all those celebrating today! Commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, today is a key date in the Christian calendar. Here at GAU we hope everyone has a peaceful and enjoyable day.

Our thoughts are with those affected by the recent attack in New Orleans, USA, where 14 people have been killed by an IS-inspired attack. Uniting against hatred is the only way to defeat such acts.

#OnThisDay in 2015, a shooting took place at the Charlie Hebdo offices in Paris. The attack was claimed by al-Qaeda and 12 people were killed. Our thoughts are with those affected, and our work continues to help combat this hatred.

My family understands the torment and heartache of having a loved one held hostage. We are relieved the end is in sight with a ceasefire between Israel and Palestine agreed. We pray that it is so.

Mike has given workshops at two London schools this week, at Bolder Academy and Ealing Fields High School, kicking off our #SharedEndeavourFund tour in partnership with MOPAC. The students and staff have been superb, and we're looking forward to our next workshops.

Today is #HolocaustMemorialDay, marking 80 years since the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. We must remember the past and learn from it, using it as an opportunity to take action for a better future.

Another great workshop today at the Islington Collegiate Sixth Form, continuing the GAU tour of London with the #SharedEndeavourFund. Both staff and students were well engaged with Mike's talk on the importance of unity and tolerance.

#OnThisDay in 2017, a gunman attacked a mosque in Quebec, Canada. Six worshippers were killed and more injured - #WeRemember all those affected. Our work to combat hatred and extremism remains crucial.

Our latest GAU continues this week, with Mike holding workshops at Loxford School and Bexley Grammar School in London. Students and staff at both schools were extremely engaged. We are looking forward to the rest of our #SharedEndevourFund tour.

Our founder Mike has made his way down from Scotland this weekend, ahead of the next leg of the GAU x MOPAC tour in London. Another couple of weeks ahead visiting schools and interacting with students and staff.

A welcome return of our GAU workshops today, spreading our key messages of unity, tolerance, and understanding as we continue to combat extremism. Giles, GAU Chair, stood in for Mike at Hampton School and delivered the workshop to around 200 well-engaged students.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the 7/7 bombings in London. 52 people were killed and a further 700 injured in coordinated attacks across the city's public transport. #WeRemember all those lives lost, and those changed forever 🕊️
