NEW City Limits from patrick spauster & myself: Viewed in isolation, a proposal to exempt small portfolios from good cause could exclude hundreds of thousands of NYC apartments. Perhaps more significantly, this type of estimate isn’t easy to make. citylimits.org/2024/04/17/goo…

UPDATE: At least 3.4 million renters would be excluded from Governor Kathy Hochul's #GoodCause, based on new data from JustFix and City Limits Governor Kathy Hochul believes that 3.4 million NY tenants don’t deserve basic protections. housingjusticeforall.org/new-at-least-3…

Today I voted no on the ELFA budget bill, despite the fact that it contains many important and positive investments for our state. Here’s a 🧵 explaining why: 1/7

Been in line for 30 minutes waiting to get into the RGB meeting and the line has only moved a few feet. How in the world do you have 1 metal detector for 100s of people? It's almost like they want to make it hard for tenants who work for a living to attend these meetings ... almo

At the same time that Eric was weaponizing his bureaucracy (RGB) to attack working-class tenants for the 3rd year in a row, he was also weaponizing his military (NYPD) to attack peaceful student protestors. His kind will always choose property over people.

On Tuesday Mayor Eric Adams’s RGB met to vote on another round of punishing rent hikes. They scheduled the preliminary vote in a remote industrial neighborhood in Queens in an obvious attempt to make it hard for tenants to get there. Despite this, + 200 of us showed up from all over!

🙁 Flatbush Ave. bwt Empire and the Junction used to be such a beautiful merging of Black American and Black West Indian cultures. What's happening is a shame, people should learn from examples like Fort Greene, Bed-Stuy, Bushwick, and Northern Crown Heights. Will they?

Good! We finally get to see who's who. Also, imagine being a public official and being "really unhappy" about taking votes in public. 😂

"Zinerman’s narrow victory came after roughly half a million dollars boosting her from super PACs backed by real estate interests and charter school boosters, including former Mayor Michael Bloomberg."

Every politician says New York is the greatest city in the world. But what good is that if no one can afford to live here? I'm running for Mayor to lower the cost of living for working class New Yorkers. Join the fight. zohranfornyc.com/donate
