(1/) NEWS: Brown University reached a deal with protestors who have held an encampment on the Main Green since last Wednesday.

The university's governing body will vote on divesting from roughly a dozen companies in exchange for organizers clearing the encampment.

That’s a first: my uptown 5 train conductor just got on the intercom and said: “There is no candy selling on the train, no candy selling on the train. You have to get off at the next stop.”

Incremental progress is progress. But we also need to call out excremental intransigence.

If this were actually supposed to be a State “pilot,” the State would have built on the City’s own pilot program!

Instead, here, “pilot” is a fig leaf for putting politics before safety.
