Consider me shocked that a Georgetown professor and Washingtonian thinks the GOP still belongs to the Mitt Romney crowd. Utterly disconnected. Perhaps at the DC decision maker level, for now. But the voters are decidedly patriotic populists!

When I hear people describing those of us who worried about debt when rates were low as "crying wolf" I wonder why the "waiting until the wolf is at the door" approach was preferable to them. The additional trillions of debt we accumulated makes fixing all of this so much harder

It is crazy that the amount of time young people spend alone has not normalized from the pandemic. Time spent alone shot up during the pandemic — and has remained at pandemic levels. And this is not what happened for people over 45…
