I’ve shared that the first time I met a black doctor was when I was in college at UMBC. That’s why I was so proud to attend the 30th anniversary celebration of the Meyerhoff program tonight. A ballroom packed full of minorities with MDs and PhDs. #RepresentationMatters

The Meyerhoff Scholars Program was started to increase diversity among future leaders in science, technology, engineering and related fields. UMBC’s Meyerhoff family is now more than 1300 strong, with over 1100 alumni across the nation- many with MDs, PhDs, or Masters degrees.
