First placement finished and it seems so odd to think I’m now half way qualified to be a teacher!? #geographyteacher #traineeteacher #PGCE #edutwitter

… and that’s a wrap! With the Lake District trip ending I have officially ended the course at the UCL Institute of Education! Surreal but had an amazing time and built so many what I hope are life long relationships. Amazing year! #geographytrainee #traineeteacher #edutwitter #PGCE

ECT1.. any ideas on how to improve the planning time of 9 mark questions? I wanna try fostering more independence with my Y11 students but trying to find a way to speed things up and promote more independence! #gcsegeography #geographyteacher

our boss often says "the fastest way to fail a student is to lower your expectations of them" and that's across the board. we show students respect by helping them UP to meet our expectations, rather than lowering our expectations DOWN to them.

Hi everyoneπŸ‘‹πŸ» Ofsted released their Geography subject report a fortnight or so ago. I've made notes on it and made both a written and visual summary which can be downloaded from my website if you'll find it helpful🌍 marcrhayes.com/post/a-summary…

β˜€οΈThe Rain Shadow Effect 🌡 Teaching climate/biomes is great! Plenty of 'aha' moments as students start to notice patterns on a world map. #geographyteacher PS - this diagram and 200+ more in my new book, each one also available for download...

According to the national survey of behaviour commissioned by the DfE earlier on this year, 60% of school leaders and teachers said pupil misbehaviour has had a negative impact on their health. I thought about this a lot recently & wanted to breakdown my thoughts below. 🧡 1/12.

Hi, I’ve just been promoted to a Head of Year and wondering if there’s any tweets or accounts I can follow to prep :) Thank you!
