GCSE Maths spec question re: estimation I’ve always thought estimation “had” to be done by rounding all numbers to 1 sig fig, but I can’t find any reference to this in the AQA Maths spec. Can it in fact be done using any reasonable method? JustMaths Jo Morgan thanks

Is it sad that I’m quite excited for teaching expanding and simplifying tomorrow by rewriting 3(2x+1) - 4(3x-2) as 3(2x+1) + -4(3x-2)? Not sure why I’ve never done it before, and I’m hopeful that it will be EXCELLENT.

I’m struggling to find a good set of practice questions about substitution involving squaring and cubing, including with negatives. Things like if a=3 and b=-2 find 4ab^2. Can anyone help?

I really dislike teaching sampling methods. Has anyone got a wonderful resource that makes it marginally more palatable? TIA.

If you're a teacher PLEASE RT this for attention. In BBC Education's article today TikTok UK + Instagram claim they don't allow selling of papers on their platforms. (LOL) Please start by removing these 264 accounts I found this morning then. 🙄 docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…

Already really enjoying this. First chapter on establishing a mathematical culture is just what I need in preparation for my new sixth form groups in September. ⁦@Whitehughes⁩ ⁦Rob Southern

I’m really looking forward to teaching proof to year 12 having read chapter 3. I’ve got so many new ideas to have a go at…starting with that beautiful semicornerless chessboard! Rob Southern @Whitehughes

Help please twitter teacher PPT users. I’ve made the switch from smart notebook to PPT and overall I’m happy. But the one problem is the lack of ‘extend page’ option for lengthy calculations. Anyone got a solution to this problem? Amanda Austin Dr Frost Jemma Sherwood
