The latest MBRRACE UK report is out today and I am so glad to see that women with language difficulties are recognised. Communication barriers are unsafe, unfair and cause harm. Pleased that the advice given in the report mirrors what we advise in our guidance #MBRRACE2024

1173 days since the Taliban banned teenage girls from school. 713 days since the Taliban banned women from going to university. Afghanistan is the only country in the world to deny education to women and girls in this way. #LetAfghanGirlsLearn

Female students at a medical school in Afghanistan’s Kapisa province weep as a man announces that they are no longer allowed to continue their studies. The Taliban’s new order bans women from medical education, closing the last remaining institutions where women can learn.

The Taliban has just banned Afghan women from attending nursing school. Imagine: you cannot pursue any education, even healthcare, because of the sole reason that you are a woman. We are witnessing the erasure of women in real-time. It is beyond horror.

The Taliban have BANNED women from studying in medical institutes in Afghanistan. This is femicide in action. By blocking women from becoming doctors and banning them from seeing male doctors, the Taliban are basically telling Afghan women to suffer and die without healthcare.
