The Mosaic debate around Hussein Aboubakr Mansour's brilliant essay is very much worth reading. I think much of what Martin Kramer says can be reconciled with his argument.
At my stage of life, I only find time to engage with serious arguments made by promising people. Hussein Aboubakr Mansour definitely qualifies.

ICYMI, the #Trump admin just ended Title VI funding for National Resource Centers, which fund #MiddleEast (and other regional studies) programs at universities around the country. A lifetime ago, I was a beneficiary of these grants, which funded my Harvard CMES masters program.
