A Medieval barn on the 'Downtown Abbey' estate has been removed from our #HeritageAtRisk register. 🥳 Built for the Bishop of Winchester between 1451 and 1453, the Grade I listed structure retains most of its original timber frame, thanks to careful repairs by Highclere Castle.
Yesterday, volunteers from Natural England's East Midlands area team uncovered historic anti-tank obstacles and cleared space for a new accessible viewing platform at Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes, part of the Lincolnshire Coronation Coast #NationalNatureReserve! 👏

Here's some good news. It looks as if Historic England may be able to carry out some dendrochronological research at the Manor House, which may help to answer questions about the dates and sequencing of various phases of construction — all very exciting!
