I feel revitalised by Mark Diacono’s “Vegetables”, which has recently washed up on NZ shores. I have all of Mark’s books, cook regularly from them & have given them as gifts - always practical, cheery with humour, and filled with knowledge. I love his spirit and work.

If you haven't had a chance to listen yet, don't forget to enjoy Mark Diacono's journey from River Cottage to his own thriving farm on the latest episode of the GIY Food Matters Podcast. Such an inspiring story! 🎙️ Link in bio to listen 🎙️ Mark Diacono Mick Kelly

A great supper that doesn’t compromise on flavour or pleasure needn’t steal our precious evening or involve great faff. So says Mark Diacono in last weekend's The Times and The Sunday Times and as he has used his prospector pan to such stunning effect we can hardly disagree! thetimes.com/life-style/foo…

Depressing news that Govt may approve bee-killing pesticide despite election promise to ban it - & outrageous that British Sugar has applied to use neonics for 5th year, despite industry commitment to end reliance in 2023. Govt must act to protect bees 🐝 theguardian.com/environment/20…

I’ve written my next book on Substack in weekly instalments (link in the bio) and I’m delighted to say I won Digital Gardening Writer of the Year at the Garden Media Guild yesterday. So much great writing happens on that platform; it’s so worth a look

UK exported 8,500 tonnes of pesticides that are banned on British farms because of the dangers they pose to human health and nature. Profits prioritised over people, with full approval of the state. Today someone else, tomorrow it will happen to you. unearthed.greenpeace.org/2024/12/08/ult…

Yesterday was busier than usual but am catching up on that Sunday morning feeling listening back to the very excellent Cerys Matthews - such a reliably great show bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0…
