Earlier this year I found a description of the #Limerick city coat of arms that dated from before the Free state. The time capsule found The LPYMA included medals that bore a striking resemblance. The stonework seen on another city building illustrates that old coat of arms.

The Presbyterian church tucked away on Glentworth St. #Limerick is an easy building to miss. The NBHS (NIAH) contradicts the plaque stating the Presbyterian community moved to Glentworth St. in 1817 and built the church circa 1846. In any case it's old.

While talking to a colleague about the The LPYMA men that died in World War 1, he asked if I had looked at mapping them. It wasn't a bad idea. He was surprised to find that many grew up on the same streets but entered different regiments. A closer look at just the city...

Clare St. Park got a new lease of life after basketball hoops were installed. It brought older kids back into the park. It's jammed there most evenings. Imagine the same hoops placed in the paved section of Arthur's Quay Park nearer to the shops and fast food outlets. #Limerick

It's a little alarming that the last review of the #Limerick 2030 development plan which includes the Arthurs Quay Framework showed only 3 target indicators making clear progress, with 3 requiring focus, and the majority 15 showing only some progress made at the half way mark.

Still looking at 1845 parish records. St John's now, I didn't find what I'm looking for yet. One name stands out though, a reminder of a search for another man yet to be found. "Sarsfield". John Sarsfield and Hanna Laird baptised daughter Anne on November 10th. Honorary Consul of France, Limerick 🇮🇪🇫🇷🇪🇺

Sir George Ingoldsby was the son of Elizabeth Cromwell. Her cousin was Oliver Cromwell. He fought for Cromwell in Ireland and settled in Co. #Limerick where he was granted land, married Mary Gould and as a result held the lands of #Corbally. Glucksman Spec Coll hold a map of his estate.

Sometimes a search takes a while and is slow. Along the way though there's always something new learned. In the Encumbered Estates Sales a map detailing a section of Clare St, #Limerick interestingly shows a National School was once at the rear of St. Patricks Church.
