As Supreme Court directs all stray dogs to be taken off Delhi streets, I share a photo of Citizen Ramesh. A homeless labourer, he has a friend in a street dog whom he calls Kaali. He feeds her daily. “I have been betrayed by humans… she is my family.”

Delhi stray dogs r not a menace. They r part of an ecosystem. Their brutal removal is not a solution. Empathy is. Getting civic agencies 2 do their job properly is a solution n supporting caregivers so that they can provide more is a solution. Lend ur voice 2 the voiceless now.

Shashi Tharoor Dogs have, perpetually, been living in close contacts of the humans for their care and survival. Shifting them to shelter homes, which are worst than hell, is fateful. Even humans aren't safe there — you can imagine miseries of the dogs. Establishment is #demanding #PoundOfFlesh.

PSA: For all who are saying “ghar le jao”. Or take them home: Le Gaye. I already have 3 rescues at home, 90 in a sheltered space. Most rescuers are like this. By this logic take beggars home, make roads in home to drive, make temples in home, make parks in home #SaveDelhiDogs

Nepal has 27 lakh stray dogs. Nobody is hyper about them in that country. No judges are passing irrational orders. In fact, people of Nepal worship dogs on Kukur Tihar every year. Something has gone wrong with Indians.

I have never in my life seen an elite feeding street dogs. Not once. Yet somehow, the stray dog controversy has been twisted into an “elite” issue and dog feeders have been painted as hypocrites overnight. The reality is the opposite the people feeding these dogs are

Order reserved. Loved how the only argument against appeals were that animal lovers eat meat! Exactly the pedestrian mindset that should not be allowed to govern public policy

A great argument was presented today by the legal fraternity, including Abhishek Manu Singhvi Sir & Kapil Sibal Sir. Facts & figures were laid out with conviction. Even the MCD faced strong remarks for failing to implement ABC for so many years. Finally, the order is reserved —

Go talk about dog bites to the mother dog whose puppies / babies have been beaten to de*th by "humans". Go talk about rabies to the mother dog who feeds milk to her babies, brings food to them and suddenly sees some monster beating her babies to de*th right in front of her eyes.

Please buy and gift me 10 houses. I will happily take all the local street dogs to my new 10 houses gifted by you. And, firsr you please spend 10 years indoors. Then let us know if it is possible for an animal with mind and feelings to spend 24 hours on 365 days to live indoors.

Developed countries do not have street dogs. Because people in developed countries are kind & wanted to save dogs from hunger, thirst, sickness, injury, rain, heat. So they sterilised dogs and then took the reduced number of dogs to home. NOT because of hatred or phobia of dogs.
